What is a E-Shram Card?

The e-Shram card is introduced recently (August 2021) in India by the Employment Ministry of The Indian Government. It helps to provide many government schemes to unorganized workers. It also provides social security and welfare benefits to the migrant and construction workers where they are working. It provides a database of the workers to the central and state about their numbers and their lifestyle so that the government can tackle any problem with respect to an economic condition in the future.

Who can Apply for E-Shram Card?

  • An individual should be unorganized workers
  • The age limit will be 16-59 years old
  • The worker shouldn't be a member of EPFO/ESIC or NPS
  • The worker shouldn't be a taxpayer
