What is a SC Certificate?

SC certificate is a caste certificate, which is proof of individual belonging to a certain caste. SC is the short form of “Scheduled Caste” which is specified in the Indian constitution. And Sc certificate is issued to the people belongs to Scheduled community. After processing for this certificate they will allow to receive some of the government benefits. If you are from backward class then you must have caste certificate like SC certificate to get benefits given by government of India.

Who can Apply for SC Certificate?

As per the guidelines laid out by the Government of India, individuals belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) can apply for an SC certificate. The eligibility criteria for obtaining an SC certificate are:

  • The applicant must belong to a caste that is listed as a Scheduled Caste in the Indian Constitution.

  • The applicant must be a citizen of India.

  • The applicant or their family should not have already availed the benefits of reservation in education or employment on the basis of belonging to another category such as OBC or ST.

Documents Required:

  • Aadhar card(if not available provide any other identity proof like Pan card or passport or driving license)

  • Copy of sc certificate of family member or any relative from parental side (father, sister, brother).

  • Marriage certificate for married women.

  • Residential proof(Anyone is mandatory):

    1. Voter Card
    2. Water bill
    3. Electricity bill
    4. Telephone bill
  • Proof of date of birth(Anyone is mandatory):

    1. School Certificate
    2. Birth certificate
    3. Passport
  • If family members are not available minimum two government employees should be required to clarify that the applicant is belongs to SC category and have to provide their identity cards.
