What is a ST Certificate?

ST certificate is also come under caste certificate in India. ST certificate refers to the Scheduled Tribes Certificate. The person should be migrated from one state to another state and the person should be from Scheduled caste. Then this certificate issued according to the Scheduled caste/ Tribes.

Who can Apply for ST Certificate?

As per the guidelines laid out by the Government of India, individuals belonging to Scheduled Tribes (ST) can apply for an ST certificate. The eligibility criteria for obtaining an ST certificate are:

  • The applicant must belong to a tribe or community that is listed as a Scheduled Tribe in the Indian Constitution.

  • The applicant must be a citizen of India.

  • The applicant or their family should not have already availed the benefits of reservation in education or employment on the basis of belonging to another category such as OBC or SC.

Documents Required for ST Certificate

  • Aadhar card(if not available provide any other identity proof like Pan card or passport or driving license).

  • Copy of sc certificate of family member or any relative from parental side (father, sister, brother).

  • Marriage certificate for married women.

  • Present Residential proof(Anyone is mandatory):

    1. Voter Card
    2. Water bill
    3. Electricity bill
    4. Telephone bill
  • Proof of date of birth(Anyone is mandatory):

    1. School Certificate
    2. Birth certificate
    3. Passport
  • If family members are not available minimum two government employees should be required to clarify that the applicant is belongs to SC category and have to provide their identity cards.
